It was a normal morning. Get up, stretch, get changed... look out the inn window and see a poor fish beached... ah. As she tied up her hair, Minfilia nodded to herself. "Rose - we've got a Pokemon to help."

Outside, Cherrygrove City was still waking up. Unlike with her, it was a slow town - but Minfilia couldn't help but wake so very early. She still was working on not acting as if she was on Hydaelyn, working hard to improve everything. She could do this, though. Help this poor large fish.

(For a moment, she wonders if she should try and recruit it as an ally. But no fish that was beached, and would be stressed.)

The sand was soft on her feet - she'd not gotten on her shoes, feeling she could go without if only for a little. As they approached the fish - the Basculegion, she would later learn - Rose gave a few pleased chirps. Proud, but wary.

The two lifted the fish, and helped it into the ocean. Minfilia felt pride for a moment, before she felt an odd warmness. A kind feeling she was not familiar with - and yet, it was not frightening. Sitting down for a moment, not quite turning, Minfilia closed her eyes. A good deed done, and a good feeling. Is that not what she works for?

That is, until she opened her eyes again. And saw the man kneeling in front of her, a soft smile on his face. For a moment, Minfilia could not place the face. (It had been so long.) For a moment, Minfilia couldn't believe it. (He'd been gone for so long.) And then, for a moment, Minfilia tried to hold herself together.

That moment dropped so quickly, and Minfilia began to cry. Because in front of her - in front of her, her father knelt. Silent, so silent, but giving her such a proud look. That look was all she needed to break her, to make her feel like a child again. Warburton, who had perished in such a cruel matter, put a hand to her face. Quietly, so quietly. She swore she heard his voice as a whisper.

(Minfilia did not notice the other ghosts behind her, knowing better then to interfere with this.)

Minfilia opened her mouth, to talk. "Father... I..."

But she need no other words, as his arms wrapped around her. While he could not touch her, he could envelope her in a gentle hug. In comfort she needed. Minfilia continued to cry quietly on the beach, until she had no more tears to shed. Before looking him in the face, eyes gentle. "The world is still not safe. There are still primals, and Garlemald is still a threat. But... it's been getting better."

He listened. Minfilia continued to talk, as the sun rose. (The other ghosts were quiet, letting them bond. Letting Minfilia get all her feelings out, her joy and sorrow.) Until Minfilia closed her eyes. "...Have you been watching over me? Because... you don't need to anymore. You can return to the lifestream."

There was a pause, under the morning sun. Warburton gave her a soft smile, before wiping at her tears - the warmth vibrating though her body. "I'll continue to fight. Even if this is not Hydaelyn, I shall continue to make you proud."

Before he vanished, quietly, Warburton said one thing that Minfilia could hear. His voice was just as she remembered it.

"I'm already proud of you."

It was a little bit before Minfilia moved. She had to go to work, after all - but as she turned, she saw the two other spirits who'd been haunting her. Who'd been watching as she cried her heart out, as she shared her sorrows and joys. Minfilia stared, wide-eyed. Before giving a little broken laugh. "How long were you going to watch?"

The larger of the two, Moenbryda, shrugged. "You seemed to need that. Plus, you know, I didn't know him."

The other was quieter - but had a bounce in her step as she spoke. Looking too young, perhaps overtaken by the imposter who used her face. "I did, but yeah - he was really more important to you then either of us?"

Wiping her tears more, Minfilia couldn't help but smile. "Moenbryda... Yda... you've come to haunt me as well? Is there a special occassion?"

"Does there need to be?" Yda asked, making sure her mask didn't slip as she put an arm around Moenbryda. "I mean, Warburton wanted to make sure you weren't hung up on his death still."

"Like me," Moenbryda added. "You were strong, standing up to that Ascian. But I made my choice - and sure, people'll miss me, but... I finally found my answer. So, you know, it's fine."

Yda chuckled. "You say that, but you're as worried as I am - not just about Minfy, but she's the one here. And she's the one we're hanging out with today, before... you know."

Wait, what? Minfilia blinked a few times. "You know...?"

"Souls don't remain around forever, Minfilia," Moenbryda said softly. "Warburton finally went to the Lifestream." (At least, that is what Minfilia would believe.) "We'll be heading off soon as well."

"I hoped to stick around until Lyse finally grew a bit stronger... if you see her, can you make sure she knows she's stronger then she thinks?" Yda said softly - she had the warmest smile, one almost motherly.

Minfilia gave a little chuckle, a little smile. "Of course. But, perhaps we should return to my inn room. I did not tell my Espurr that I'd be out here for too long."
